Trolley Assistant (Night Shift) – Full-Time Employment Opportunity

Position Summary
The Trolley Assistant (Night Shift) is responsible for ensuring the continuous availability, cleanliness, and orderly arrangement of luggage trolleys throughout all designated airport zones. This role contributes directly to passenger convenience, operational efficiency, and the maintenance of service standards expected in a high-traffic international airport.
The position requires physical endurance, situational awareness, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently over extended periods. The role operates within a team-based structure under the supervision of shift leaders and operations personnel.
Key Objectives of the Role
Maintain adequate trolley availability across all operational zones
Ensure all trolley stations are organized, accessible, and safe for public use
Support passenger flow efficiency by minimizing trolley shortages
Contribute to overall airport presentation standards through orderly equipment management
Comply fully with workplace safety, health, and operational procedures
Work Location and Operational Coverage
Primary work location is Changi Airport. Staff may be assigned to various operational zones, including but not limited to:
Passenger terminals (Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 3, Terminal 4)
Arrival halls and baggage claim areas
Departure halls and check-in areas
Public transportation interfaces, including train stations and bus bays
Taxi stands and passenger pick-up/drop-off points
Multi-storey car parks and outdoor parking zones
Inter-terminal walkways and connection corridors
External trolley collection zones exposed to environmental conditions
Deployment is subject to operational requirements, and employees must be prepared to rotate between different locations and functional zones within the airport.
Working Schedule and Shift Structure
Permanent night shift: 10:20 PM to 6:40 AM
Work cycle: 5 working days per week
Rest cycle: 2 days off on a rotational basis
The night shift is integral to airport readiness and involves high levels of physical activity, particularly in preparation for early morning passenger traffic. Employees must demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and the ability to maintain consistent performance throughout overnight hours.
Overtime work may be assigned based on operational demands, particularly during peak travel periods, major international events, or public holidays.
Compensation and Benefits Structure
Monthly base salary up to SGD 3,300
Night shift allowance applicable per company policy
Overtime compensation in accordance with Singapore labor regulations
Completion bonus of SGD 1,000 upon successful completion of 4 months of service, subject to attendance and performance criteria

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities
Trolley Collection and Retrieval
Conduct systematic collection of luggage trolleys from all assigned areas
Identify and retrieve trolleys left in unauthorized or scattered locations
Ensure no obstruction is caused to passenger movement or emergency pathways
Trolley Organization and Distribution
Return collected trolleys to designated storage bays
Align and stack trolleys according to operational standards
Maintain orderly presentation and accessibility of trolley stations
Supply Monitoring and Replenishment
Monitor trolley usage trends and identify high-demand areas
Redistribute trolleys proactively to prevent shortages
Coordinate with team members to maintain balanced distribution across zones
Inspection and Reporting
Perform visual inspection of trolleys for damage or defects
Remove non-functional or unsafe trolleys from circulation
Report maintenance issues promptly to supervisory staff
Operational Support
Assist in managing increased demand during peak travel hours
Follow instructions from supervisors and adhere to shift assignments
Participate in team coordination activities to improve workflow efficiency
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This role involves continuous physical activity and requires candidates to meet the following conditions:
Ability to walk and stand for prolonged durations
Capability to push multiple trolleys simultaneously over varying distances
Willingness to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
Adaptability to different weather conditions, including heat and rain
Maintenance of physical stamina during overnight working hours
