Location: The Woodleigh Mall, near Toa Payoh MRT / Woodleigh MRT

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Barista to join our team at The Woodleigh Mall. This is a full-time opportunity for individuals who are passionate about coffee, enjoy interacting with customers, and take pride in delivering consistently high-quality beverages and service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of beverages according to established recipes and standards, serving customers, supporting cashiering operations, and maintaining a clean and well-organized bar and store environment.

Key Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation

• Prepare espresso-based coffee beverages according to the company’s recipes and quality standards.
• Prepare a range of tea and non-coffee beverages accurately and consistently.
• Operate coffee machines and bar equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure beverages are presented according to established company standards.
• Maintain consistency in beverage quality, portioning, and preparation.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and operational SOPs.

Customer Service and Cashiering

• Welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cashiering and payment transactions when required.
• Respond to customer enquiries and provide assistance with product selections.
• Maintain a positive customer experience throughout the service process.
• Handle customer requests professionally and escalate issues to supervisors when necessary.

Pastry and Bakery Handling

• Arrange and maintain the display of pastries and baked products.
• Handle pastries and baked goods according to food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Ensure displays are clean, attractive, and adequately stocked.
• Monitor product availability and support replenishment when required.
• Follow proper stock rotation procedures to maintain product freshness and minimize wastage.

Store Operations

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, counter, and store areas.
• Carry out opening and closing duties according to established procedures.
• Clean and maintain coffee machines, equipment, workstations, and other operational areas.
• Assist with stock counting and inventory-related activities.
• Support proper stock rotation and storage procedures.
• Ensure ingredients, packaging materials, and other supplies are properly organized.
• Follow workplace safety, food hygiene, and cleanliness standards at all times.
• Perform other operational duties assigned by the supervisor or management team.

Requirements

Applicants should have a genuine interest in coffee and customer service, along with the ability to work efficiently in a busy F&B environment.

The ideal candidate should have:

• At least 1 year of experience in a coffee shop or F&B outlet.
• Hands-on experience preparing espresso-based beverages.
• A valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Good knowledge of basic café and beverage preparation procedures.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• A positive, responsible, and professional working attitude.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to beverage quality.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to remain organized and efficient during busy service periods.
• Willingness to work according to a rostered schedule.
• Availability to work weekends and public holidays as scheduled.

Working Arrangement

This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 44 hours per week over 5 rostered working days. Employees should be prepared to work rotating schedules based on outlet operational requirements, including weekends and public holidays.
