WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT – CHANGI NAVAL BASE
6-Month Contract | Renewable/Convertible | 5-Day Work Week | SGD 2,500–2,600/month
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and responsible Warehouse Assistant to join the operations team at Changi Naval Base on a 6-month contract basis. The contract may be renewed or converted, subject to operational requirements and performance.
This role involves warehouse and store operations, including receiving, checking, sorting, storing, picking, packing, disposal processing, fuel-related duties, and maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the work area.
Candidates should have prior experience in store or warehouse operations and be comfortable working in a structured environment where accuracy, safety, and proper procedures are important.

Key Responsibilities
The Warehouse Assistant will support daily store and warehouse operations while ensuring that goods, equipment, and supplies are handled accurately and according to established procedures.
Warehouse and Store Operations
- Escort suppliers and contractors within designated areas when required.
- Receive newly purchased stores and returned items.
- Verify received goods against relevant documentation and requirements.
- Sort and organise stores appropriately.
- Put away received items in their designated storage locations.
- Pick and pack customer-indented items accurately and efficiently.
- Support re-warehousing activities to ensure proper organisation and utilisation of storage areas.
- Maintain accurate handling and movement of warehouse items.
Disposal and Inventory Duties
- Process disposal notifications according to established procedures.
- Monitor disposal activities through to the physical disposal of items.
- Ensure relevant disposal processes are properly followed and completed.
- Assist with stock and warehouse-related documentation where required.
- Maintain proper organisation of stores and work areas.
Fuel-Related Responsibilities
The role may also involve operational duties related to fuel management, including:
- Perform daily fuel tank sounding and accounting.
- Monitor and record fuel levels accurately.
- Carry out refuelling of MGO (Marine Gas Oil) to ships according to established procedures.
- Support urgent fuel requests from ship users when required.
- Follow all relevant operational, safety, and workplace procedures when carrying out fuel-related duties.
Housekeeping and Operational Support
- Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping standards within the warehouse and assigned work areas.
- Keep storage areas organised and free from unnecessary obstructions.
- Perform other warehouse or store-related duties as assigned.
- Support urgent requests from ship users when operationally required.
Shift and Operational Requirements
Although the regular working schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:45 PM, employees may be required to perform rotating shift duties, including weekends and public holidays, to support urgent ship-user requirements and fuel requests.
Candidates should therefore be flexible and prepared to adjust their working schedule according to operational needs.
Overtime may also be required when necessary.
Requirements
- Minimum O Level qualification.
- At least 1 year of working experience in store or warehouse operations.
- Previous experience in warehouse, inventory, logistics, or store management is relevant.
- Knowledge of SAP and warehouse operations is an added advantage.
- Valid forklift licence is an added advantage.
- Good attention to detail when receiving, checking, sorting, and storing items.
- Able to follow established procedures and instructions accurately.
- Responsible, organised, and safety-conscious.
- Willing to work overtime when required.
- Willing to perform rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays when operationally necessary.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Working Environment
This position involves active warehouse and operational duties and may require regular movement between storage and work areas. Candidates should be comfortable handling routine warehouse activities and following strict operational and safety procedures.
Because the position supports ship users and fuel-related requests, flexibility and reliability are important requirements of the role.
Contract and Career Opportunity
The initial appointment is for 6 months, with the possibility of renewal or conversion, depending on business requirements, performance, and other applicable considerations.
The role provides practical experience across warehouse operations, inventory handling, store management, logistics support, and specialised operational activities within the Changi Naval Base environment.
