Position Overview

We are urgently seeking reliable and hardworking Hand Pickers to join our warehouse operations team handling fresh fruits. This full-time position involves picking, sorting, packing, and preparing fresh fruit orders for delivery.

The role is suitable for both experienced warehouse workers and candidates without prior experience, as training will be provided. Candidates should be physically fit, responsible, and comfortable working in a cold room or chilled warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Hand Picker will support daily warehouse operations and ensure fresh fruit orders are accurately prepared according to customer requirements.

Picking and Sorting

• Pick fresh fruits according to customer orders and warehouse instructions.
• Sort fruits and ensure the correct products and quantities are selected.
• Check picked items for accuracy before packing.
• Handle fresh produce carefully to minimise damage during the picking and preparation process.
• Ensure orders are completed within the required timeframe.

Packing and Order Preparation

• Pack fresh fruit products according to established procedures.
• Prepare completed orders for delivery and dispatch.
• Ensure products are properly arranged and packed before leaving the warehouse.
• Check order quantities and product details to maintain picking accuracy.

Warehouse Operations

• Assist with general warehouse activities when required.
• Keep the assigned work area clean, organised, and safe.
• Follow warehouse procedures, workplace safety guidelines, and operational instructions.
• Support other picking, packing, sorting, or warehouse duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Work cooperatively with other team members to meet daily operational requirements.

Working Environment

This position involves working in a cold room or chilled warehouse environment, with fresh fruits being the main products handled.

The role is physically active and may require employees to stand, walk, lift, move, and handle cartons or other items during their shift. Candidates should be comfortable working in a temperature-controlled environment and performing repetitive warehouse tasks.

Requirements

• No prior warehouse experience is required; training will be provided.
• Previous experience in warehouse picking, packing, or fresh food handling is an advantage.
• Physically fit and able to perform active warehouse duties.
• Able to handle and move cartons as required.
• Comfortable working in a cold room or chilled warehouse.
• Responsible, punctual, and hardworking.
• Able to follow instructions and established warehouse procedures.
• Good attention to detail when picking and sorting customer orders.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willing to work 6 days per week according to the stated schedule.
